When I Walk(2013)

DIR. JASON DASILVA
85 MIN

Filmmaker Jason DaSilva began documenting his own MS diagnosis at age 25 and continued filming for five years as his disability progressed. The resulting documentary is a frank, intimate, and formally inventive portrait of living with progressive disability — including his relationship with his partner, Alice Cook, who founded AXS Map (an accessibility mapping app) as a direct response to DaSilva's experiences. Multiple accessible formats produced alongside the film. A model for disabled filmmakers telling their own stories.
