DIR. JENNIFER BREA
97 MIN

Jennifer Brea was working on her PhD at Harvard when she became severely ill with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). Unable to get out of bed, she picked up a camera and began filming her life, her relationships, and her fight to be believed. The result is one of the most important disability documentaries of the past decade: a portrait of an invisible, contested illness told entirely from inside it. Brea's access to her own story, her formal intelligence as a filmmaker, and the solidarity she builds with ME/CFS patients worldwide make this essential for anyone working in arts access or chronic illness advocacy. Sundance World Cinema Documentary Audience Award. Available on Netflix and for free on some platforms.
