Three seasons (ABC, 2016–2019) of a sitcom centering JJ DiMeo — a teenager with cerebral palsy — and the family chaos of being JJ's family. Played by Micah Fowler, who has cerebral palsy himself. Remarkable for using AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) as the actual comic mechanism — JJ's aide Kenneth speaks his words, creating layered, physical comedy. One of very few mainstream sitcoms to cast a disabled actor in the disabled lead role. Smart, funny, and warm.
