Aneta Brodski, a Deaf Israeli immigrant teen in Queens, discovers ASL poetry and dives into the New York slam scene, eventually performing in a hearing slam alongside a hearing Palestinian poet as her collaborator. One of the only films ever made about ASL poetry as a living art form: visual vernacular, handshape rhyme, and Deaf teenage swagger all on screen. Aired on PBS Independent Lens. A niche gem that belongs on every Deaf arts syllabus.
